Responsibilities
- Drives tanker truck to predetermined destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and of roads in the area.
- Works with paving crews and sprays bituminous tack-coat.
- Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for damaged parts or signs of tampering; reports all problems to the shop immediately.
- Maintains a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
- Communicates problems with traffic or site conditions promptly and obtains information on job site location and routes, including light bridges or road detours on the way to the site.
- Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair in accordance with the Truck Driver's Handbook guidelines.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred or related work experience
- 1–2 years CDL driving experience with GVW of 33,000 pounds or greater
- Tanker endorsement
- In compliance with all DOT physical requirements
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License required
- Hazmat experience preferred but not required
- Skilled in loading and unloading fuel and oil from the fuel truck at terminals
- Valid Driver's license required
