RFS Guard – Sydney Airport (Protective Services)
Are you a professional and vigilant security officer looking to make an impact in a high-security environment? Certis Protective Services is seeking committed RFS Guards to join our Tier 1 Aviation Security team at Sydney Airport.
As an RFS Guard, you will play a critical role in protecting restricted areas of the airport by ensuring only authorised personnel gain access, maintaining compliance with aviation security protocols, and delivering exceptional service to staff, stakeholders, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain access control at:
- Sterile Area (LSZ)
- Security Restricted Area (SRA)
- Enhanced Inspection Area (EIA)
- Operate and monitor EIA vehicle and pedestrian entry gates
- Conduct access screening, search, and inspection tasks
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Sydney Airport Security Instructions
- Applicable aviation legislation and regulations
- Support emergency procedures and incident response protocols
- Record accurate information, logs, and reports as required
- Work closely with stakeholders including:
- Duty Security Manager
- Security Operations Centre (SOC)
- Ramp Supervisor and AOCC
Qualifications
- Enclosed Lands Protection Act 1901 (NSW)
- Sydney Airport security standing orders
- Search and inspection techniques
- Radio and telephone communication procedures
- Emergency and incident response protocols
Knowledge
- Security operations
- Radio/telephone communications
- Basic computer literacy as a minimum
- Effective in a team environment
- Developed skills in conflict management resolution
- Problem solving/critical thinking
- Recording information and report writing
Skills & Attributes
Experience in aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure security (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proven skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and attention to detail
Ability to follow procedures with discipline and accuracy
Competency with basic computer systems (for reporting and communication)
