The Delivery Driver works at our warehouse operation in Eagan, Minnesota, reporting to the Warehouse Manager. This is a full-time, first-shift position (Monday to Friday) with training provided. Primary responsibilities include loading/unloading, distributing, and delivering materials to construction sites and residences, as well as supporting warehouse duties such as basic maintenance and order picking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive a 26-foot box truck on scheduled local and regional delivery routes with occasional unscheduled stops; may drive other vehicles to deliver materials
  • Accurately unload materials to job sites based on orders and work tickets
  • Assist with loading trucks and vehicles
  • May pick up materials from vendors and load materials into customer vehicles
  • Communicate courteously with customers throughout the delivery
  • Troubleshoot questions or concerns professionally
  • Document or communicate delivery status, including changes, with the manager
  • Assist with picking and staging orders in the warehouse for subcontractor pickups and job site deliveries
  • Assist with sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Assist with warehouse maintenance to maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Operate carpet cutting equipment and assist with inventory-related projects as needed
  • Complete daily general/safety inspections of vehicles and material handling equipment (forklifts)
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • 6+ months delivery driving experience for wholesale or commercial customers
  • 6+ months customer service experience
  • 6+ months box truck or similar vehicle experience preferred
  • 6+ months warehouse, construction, or large item delivery experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required
  • Must have a valid driver license and meet minimum standards following a Motor Vehicle Report review at time of offer and regularly while employed
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols to operate flooring cutting machine
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to read/write basic English and perform simple arithmetic
  • Ability to order numbers, measure, and perform simple addition/subtraction

Work Environment

General warehouse/shop environment and on-site job locations with frequent driving. May require meeting tight deadlines and exposure to outdoors and seasonal weather and driving conditions.
