Human Resources Manager
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client in Overland Park, KS, and assisting them with a Human Resources Manager search. The Human Resources Manager is a dynamic leader who bridges strategic vision with operational excellence. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact HR services across the organization, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience. With oversight of key HR functions—including benefits, payroll, HR systems, employee relations, and performance management—this individual plays a critical role in shaping a culture where HR is a proactive and trusted business partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives; champion the use of HR technology and analytics to drive efficiency and engagement; deliver data-driven insights to support continuous improvement
- Benefits Administration: Manage all employee benefit programs including 401(k), FMLA, and disability; collaborate with external vendors to optimize plan performance and employee satisfaction; lead benefits education efforts to improve understanding and participation; ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (ACA, ERISA, etc.)
- HR Systems & Technology: Serve as the primary administrator for the HRIS platform; streamline HR processes through automation and system integration; ensure data consistency across payroll, benefits, and talent systems
- Core HR Operations: Oversee onboarding, offboarding, records management, and policy updates; lead the annual performance review cycle and optimize system utilization; support recruitment and training initiatives to enhance the new hire experience
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain documentation and uphold best practices in employee relations; supervise payroll operations and workers’ compensation reporting; ensure accuracy in deductions, tax filings, and compliance; partner with Safety and Finance teams on incident management and return-to-work processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including benefits and payroll
- Experience managing 401(k) plans
- Strong proficiency with HRIS platforms and reporting tools
- Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical abilities
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus
