Hirewell is hiring: Human Resources Manager in Zanesville

Overview

We’re partnering with a global manufacturer to hire a Human Resources Manager who will lead HR operations across two unionized plants in the Zanesville, OH area (supporting ~415 employees). This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Director of People, with responsibility for driving HR strategy, labor relations, and associate development while supporting plant leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with site leadership to oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, and succession planning.
• Lead labor relations, ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws, and provide guidance on employee relations issues.
• Develop and implement HR initiatives that strengthen workforce culture, retention, and associate engagement.
• Support compliance, performance management, and leadership training across both plants.
• Collaborate with corporate HR and Centers of Excellence to align site practices with company-wide initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–7 years of HR experience in a unionized, multi-site manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
• Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and ability to navigate complex employee relations.
• Proven ability to partner with leaders while maintaining confidentiality and trust.
