What you’ll do
Human Resources Lead will be responsible for recruitment and talent management, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and policy compliance. This role plays a critical part in shaping the organizational culture, supporting employee engagement, and driving continuous improvement across the workforce. This position serves as a bridge between leadership and employees.
What you’ll do?
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Draft and post job descriptions on various platforms.
- Screen resumes and conduct prescreening and initial interviews.
- Coordinate participation in relevant job fairs based on hiring needs and target talent pools.
- Develop and maintain a talent pipeline through proactive sourcing, networking, and relationship-building.
- Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers.
- Extend job offers and negotiate terms.
- Conduct employee onboarding and orientation sessions.
- Ensure completion of new hire paperwork and system setup.
- Manage relationships with external recruiters, staffing agencies, and other third-party vendors as needed.
Employee Relations
- Address employee concerns, complaints, and grievances.
- Mediate conflicts between employees or between staff and management.
- Provide counseling or disciplinary action as needed.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through employee engagement activities.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover data.
Performance Management
- Implement and monitor performance appraisal processes.
- Train managers in giving feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- Support managers in identifying performance improvement plans (PIPs).
Training & Development
- Assess training needs through performance reviews and consultation.
- Coordinate or conduct in-house or online training programs.
- Track employee participation and progress in training programs.
- Manage benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment processes.
- Serve as liaison between employees and benefit providers; resolve employee inquiries or issues.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to negotiate terms, renewals, and pricing.
- Support the annual compensation review process, including merit increases and bonus recommendations.
- Support payroll process in coordination with finance/payroll teams.
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and internal policies.
- Maintain employee records.
- Prepare reports for government agencies (EEO, OSHA, etc.).
- Update the employee handbook as needed and develop HR policies in line with company goals.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on HR trends.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term capacity forecasts based on current and anticipated client engagements, sales pipeline, and resource availability.
- Collaborate with managers or project leads to anticipate staffing needs and skill gaps.
- Collaborate with business development and sales teams to understand pipeline timelines and translate them into resource requirements.
- Participate in organizational planning and restructuring.
- Manage and update HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Ensure data integrity and system accuracy.
- Provide training to staff in HR-related software and tools.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 3–5 years of human resources experience as generalists.
- Confident communicator—able to speak directly and clearly to both management and employees.
- Extremely organized and fast-moving.
- Strong background in people problem-solving—quick thinking with emotional intelligence.
- Experience using HR systems such as ADP.
- Strong knowledge of Puerto Rico Labor Law.
- Comfortable balancing empathy with policy, structure with flexibility.
- You can read the room and manage up, down, and across.
- Must be proactive, curious, and driven—someone who acts before being asked.
- Excellent knowledge of computer programs such as ADP, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Canva.
- Fully bilingual: English & Spanish
