Systems Administrator III
The Systems Administrator III at St. Charles Health researches, designs, develops, operates, and maintains infrastructure services for existing and new business applications and/or information systems solutions through integration of technical and business requirements per standard SCHS IT process methodology. This includes identification, development, and prioritization of infrastructure services according to business criticality. Applications and information systems solutions include both 3rd party software and internally developed, applications, and infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis of business requirements, configuration of 3rd party software implementation of infrastructure solutions, creation of documentation, testing and maintenance of applications, and support and maintenance of infrastructure and information systems. The Systems Administrator III works within the Information Technology function, obtaining resources and working in support of objectives and strategies. Typical customers are SCHS end users and various functional areas such as Caregiver/Patient Care, Marketing, Finance, other business partners, and Epic Connect customers. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers. Essential functions and duties include applying developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues, working on problems projects of diverse complexity and scope, exercising independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution, acting as an informed team or providing analysis of information and limited project input, following established guidelines and interpreting policies, evaluating unique circumstances and making recommendations, ensuring configuration management database entries are complete and accurate, performing basic analysis of functional or service requirements using fundamental understanding of IT Business process or problems, independently implementing end user or enterprise infrastructure/application or services of moderate complexity as prepared by more senior technologist in support of more complex solutions, applying technical knowledge to operate and administer infrastructure or software platforms and user groups of moderate to high complexity, independently resolving some highly complex technical issues within a given technical area, identifying potential escalations and proactively alerting management, leads escalation through the IT Technology Director, proactively searching for issues and providing solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility including patch management, independently reviewing, implementing, and verifying highly complex and high-risk changes and solutions, mentoring other team members, participating in on-call rotation, as required, and participating in after-hours escalation calls, supporting the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects, supporting Value Improvement Practice (VIP-Lean) principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change, providing and maintaining a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests, conducting all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, complying with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, supporting the organization's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings, delivering customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient, and accurate, and may perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or other technology discipline, or a combination of education and experience that will enable performance of the full scope of the position. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or higher. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements. Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St. Charles Health System worksites. Industry certification in specific discipline (MCSA, CCNA, CCA, VCP or AWS). Preferred: Advanced industry certification in specific disciplines such as security, cloud, network, or infrastructure. Experience: Required: Seven (7+) years of progressively responsible roles supporting systems in a medium-scale, multi-user, multi-application, multi-server Enterprise environment required. Strong experience with infrastructure environments (e.g., operating system, security, network, voice, end user and server related applications). Preferred: Healthcare experience. Virtual Networking (Distributed Virtual Switches, VM Kernel Ports) and TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP and LDAP. Customizing guest operating system on Virtual Machines. System Administration-Managing Users, Groups, Roles and Access Permissions. Managing Tasks, Events and Alarms, Managing Application stack runs on VMWare, Windows/IIS Webservers, Linux/Unix. Installs, configures, and manages Microsoft server operating systems. Manages and maintains Microsoft Active Directory and group policies. Use of security best practice to secure Microsoft, Linux, and storage systems in compliance with company standards. Provides Tier 3 support, and Tier 1/2 as needed, to customers throughout the system. End User Engineering: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Technology. New Hardware testing and approval (laptops and desktop computers). Image development and testing. Operating System, Drivers. Baseline applications (packaging and insertion to image deployment). Delivery system (SCCM, InTune, JAMF). Client Operating System Maintenance. Active Directory. Azure AD. Provides Tier 3 support, and Tier 1/2 as needed, to customers throughout the system. Citrix: Implementation, management of Netscaler Load-balancing. Sound knowledge of developing and maintaining XenApp, XenDesktop. User Profile Services. Managing networking protocols. Knowledge of Imprivata Identity Governance and Single Sign-on. Provides Tier 3 support, and Tier 1/2 as needed, to customers throughout the system.
