Job Summary
We are looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to support our real time communication (RTC) infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our voice communication platforms and services. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys automation, and has a passion for ensuring high availability and performance of communication systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for RTC, VoIP, and other infrastructure components.
Automate provisioning and configuration of RTC systems using tools like Ansible, Packer, & Terraform,
Design & implement automated QA testing & validation to cover common RTC scenarios.
Monitor and troubleshoot VoIP traffic, call routing, and signaling issues using tools like Wireshark, SIPp, and HOMER.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for production services.
Implement and maintain observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Logging) for real-time performance monitoring.
Participate in on call rotation, incident response, and root cause analysis for service outages.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel Requirements
Travel Requirements: Less than 25%
Education
Minimum of a 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field required, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
3 or more years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles within the telecom or networking domain.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong hands-on experience with VoIP technologies and protocols (SIP/SDP and RTP).
Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Github Actions) and version control systems (Git).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS).
Solid understanding of QA methodologies and experience with automated testing frameworks.
Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Attention to detail.
Able to reference and understand RFCs such as RFC 3261.
Familiarity with network protocols and routing (TCP/IP, UDP, Websockets, TLS, NAT traversal).
Qualifications:
Experience with telecom-specific monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., RTCP, SIPp, SIPCapture).
Knowledge of telecom regulations and standards (e.g., FCC, ITU-T, STIR/SHAKEN).
Certifications in VoIP technologies, cloud platforms, or DevOps practices.
