Warehouse Driver Associate Ideal Candidate Profile

QTS is currently seeking an energetic, responsive and well-organized full-time Warehouse/Driver Associate to deliver material between the warehouse and production facilities using a box truck and company van. This person will assist with moving materials from our current location to our off-site warehouse location in Shakopee. The ideal candidate has prior computer experience, has prior warehouse/inventory experience, and must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record, as well as the ability to successfully multi-task and adapt to change in our fast-paced, dynamic environment. This person will also receive cross training in receiving, returns and hands-on warehouse duties. Candidate must also be able to pass a DOT physical and a road test. This position only makes deliveries between the company warehouse (Shakopee, MN) and production facility (Bloomington, MN), it does not do metro wide deliveries.

Warehouse Driver Associate Job Summary

  • Safely operate a box truck to complete scheduled deliveries, following any DOT and company best practices.
  • Load/Unload all materials including wrap and secure pallets as needed, using proper handling and securing methods. Deliver any materials/paperwork needing to go to customer service, engineers, inspection and shipping.
  • Perform pallet and product inspections for damage before release, ensuring good Quality assurance.
  • Stage material in appropriate areas and gather production job returns to be brought back to the off-site warehouse.
  • Drive materials between off-site warehouse and production facility.
  • Move materials within ERP to track inventory, process receipts and returns, and maintain accurate records. Enter data correctly, generate reports and support cycle counts or full physical inventories.
  • Verify and inspect Bills of Lading (BOLs) and pick lists and document any discrepancies.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines (i.e. - delivery times, rush orders, customer needs, etc.)
  • Ensure dock truck and van are fueled and in safe working order. Ensure that vehicles are clean and submit any requests for maintenance.
  • Complete monthly expense reports and keep an accurate driver/delivery log.
  • Perform general warehouse upkeep, including operating cleaning equipment, organizing workspace (5S) and performing other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Driver Associate Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of prior route delivery driver experience.
    • Non-CDL box truck delivery experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office & ERP software experience.
  • Must be able read, understand, speak and write in English.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must have current, valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a DOT physical and a road test.
