Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and project management. The Estimator will play a crucial role in calculating the total cost of a construction project before work begins.
Duties
- Analyzing blueprints, determining material and labor costs, factor in equipment, and subcontractor expenses, and consider potential risks.
- Utilize software tools such as On-Center to create and manage estimates efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimating purposes.
- Identify potential costs risks like delays, material shortages, or unforeseen site conditions.
- Provide support in project management tasks as needed, ensuring timely completion of estimates.
- Customer service is a must. Clients are a top priority and we value their relationships. Must be professional, respectful, and timely with response times.
Skills
- Proficient in construction estimating techniques and methodologies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols.
- Experience using estimating software such as On-Center.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in cost calculations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
