As a Social Worker 2, you willcoordinate services for individuals suffering from serious mental illness, medical conditions, and substance use disorders, particularly opioid use disorder. You will provide counseling and case management, as well as assist in the formulation of individual treatment plans. You will research and analyze records, identify problem areas and psychiatric needs, and monitor the progress of cases. This role requires the ability to provide counsellingservices that will support inmates and help them overcome obstacles necessary for successful reintegration. In addition, you will assist with parole planning, coordinate reentry planning, and identify support resources and community programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (Commonwealth titles),(must have been employed in a Commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous Commonwealth employment);or
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration)and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare;or
- Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare;or
- A master's degree in social work or social welfare.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirements:
- All employees in the Department of Corrections must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
