Overview
Halcyon is an adaptive security platform focused on stopping ransomware. Halcyon was formed in 2021 by cyber security veterans from Cylance (now BlackBerry), Accuvant (now Optiv), FireEye, and ISS X-Force (now IBM). The company operates as a remote-native, distributed global team. We’re looking for an Accounting Operations Specialist to join our Finance team. Reporting to the VP of Accounting, this role owns the full Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable cycles, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, reimbursements, and cash flow forecasting. The role also oversees tax compliance in Avalara and helps strengthen accounting operations as Halcyon scales.
What You’ll Do
Take full ownership of AR & AP cycles.
Review contracts in Salesforce/ERP; generate accurate invoices and manage collections.
Oversee sales tax compliance via Avalara (all registrations current).
Review Expensify employee expense reports; process reimbursements.
Forecast weekly cash collections/payments; communicate expected flows to the team.
Reconcile daily cash activity to ERP and partner with the Senior Accountant to resolve discrepancies.
Support annual audit preparation and participate in ad-hoc accounting projects.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting.
Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience with Bill.com, Salesforce, Avalara, Rillet, and Expensify strongly preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage volume.
Strong communicator who can partner across Finance, Sales, and external vendors/customers.
Compensation Range
75,000 – 95,000 annually
In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, Halcyon’s base compensation is a reasonable estimate and may differ based on experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is part of the total package and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and equity.
