Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Director of Quality Systems, based out of Billerica, MA.
Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities.
The Director of Quality Systems is responsible for worldwide quality systems, including integration of the QMS, Management Reviews, Internal and External Audits, Document Control, Quality Training, and KPIs. This position ensures that company products, operations, and outputs are compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
The Director of Quality Systems makes certain that all company plans, personnel, and processes follow a Quality First philosophy, ensuring that all procedures and controls accomplish intended objectives: Safe, effective, and compliant products, ecstatic and loyal customers, simple and effective operations, and successful and profitable business.
The Director of Quality Systems is responsible for all Rapiscan sites focusing on Quality Systems while partnering with site Quality Leads, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Supplier Quality. This position is responsible for the establishment of an effective Quality Management System across multiple businesses and sites.
Responsibilities A key responsibility will be the establishment and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System(s).
This position is responsible for leading and executing the global quality strategy for all business areas. Responsibilities include managing the planning the implementation of the quality system; creation and implementation of corporate processes, process maps/turtles, procedures, and tools; management of internal and external audits; management of global document control activities; ensuring all employees have adequate Quality training, and the management and implementation of corporate quality tools.
Critical Quality Functions
Elevate the culture of Quality throughout the organization ensuring Quality has a voice at the table across the product lifecycle
Develop staff with a Quality First mindset ensuring document reviews and approvals are meeting regulator expectations
Unify and maintain the Quality System across Rapiscan businesses ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the QMS, identifying areas to improve through data analysis and monitoring
Establish and maintain the Quality Policy
Unify the Quality Manual(s) ensuring adequacy and compliance for each business
Develop, train, and implement Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, and Templates
Prepare and lead Management Review activities
Ensure Documents and Records are adequately controlled
Establish the plan and execute Internal Quality Audits
Lead and represent Rapiscan during external Quality Audits
Identify, create, and execute Quality Training throughout the organization focusing on a Quality First mindset
Maintain the Risk and Opportunity Register in accordance with regulatory requirements
Establish and maintain KPIs ensuring KPIs are functional and actionable.
Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
