Role Description We are seeking an experienced
Senior Inspector
to support the oversight of active construction projects involving roadways, utilities, sidewalks, and other civil infrastructure. The Senior Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that construction work complies with design specifications, contract documents, materials standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor contractor operations and inspect construction activities for compliance with specifications.
Inspect paving, concrete, utility installations, drainage systems, MOT setups, and other project elements.
Review and interpret plans, permits, specifications, and contract documents.
Track and report on daily progress, construction quantities, and any non-conforming work.
Coordinate with project engineers, stakeholders, and contractors on quality control and field issues.
Maintain accurate field notes, photographic documentation, and daily reports.
Ensure safety protocols and environmental controls are properly followed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Minimum 10 years of construction inspection experience.
Certifications in Asphalt Field, Concrete Field, and Soils and Aggregate Compaction from recognized programs such as VDOT, MDOT, ACI, NICET, or MARTCP.
Strong knowledge of DDOT standards, construction specifications, and materials testing.
Proficiency in preparing and reviewing field documentation.
