Our BD team leads Amgens efforts to license, acquire or collaborate on externally sourced innovation. We are a lean team with high impact, reporting into the CEO. What You Will Do
In this vital role, the Director on the Transactions team will analyze and negotiate potential deals, collaborating with BD and cross-functional stakeholders. You will help source and structure deals that balance internal and external innovation and create value for patients. Collaborate within BD and key cross-functional stakeholders to assess and advance deals Develop and recommend deal structures, financial terms and other key deal terms Drive decision making and the deal process Create presentations and present to the Deal Review Committee and senior leaders Lead negotiations with potential partners Work on deals of all sizes and stages (early research to commercial assets), including licensing, collaboration and to M&A Juggle multiple projects with different deadlines Interface with external parties (venture capitalists, target company executives, industry peers, investment banks) Personal Attributes
Energetic, results-driven self-starter with strong executive presence, collaboration, and strategic/analytic thinking Excellent project management skills; capable of handling complex, multi-function projects Strong executive communication skills (written and oral) Strong negotiations experience with problem-solving capabilities Good business instincts with financial acumen Solid understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry and key functions Passion for data-driven decisions in deals or walk-away situations Ability to build and lead teams, drive business decisions and manage multiple projects Managerial skills are critical What We Expect Of You

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Business Development deal experience Or Masters degree and 7 years of Business Development deal experience Or Bachelors degree and 9 years of Business Development deal experience Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of deal experience with a track record of complex or value-creating deals At least 5 years in biopharmaceutical industry Experience managing in time-intensive situations MBA and/or JD highly desired A combination of scientific and business education/experience could be helpful What You Can Expect Of Us
