Adjunct Pool - Digital Media and Design Department Location: Thousand Oaks, CA Posting date: 1 week ago. Open to adjunct faculty for undergraduate and/or graduate courses as needed. Responsibilities
Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher-order thinking skills through appropriate assignments and activities in one-on-one, classroom, and distance-mediated instructional settings. Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services, programs, resources, and other professionals as appropriate. Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes; provide timely feedback to student inquiries in class, online, or during established consultation office hours. Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; implement the student performance objectives as listed on the official course outline of record. Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes; prepare and submit data and reports related to course and student progress in a timely manner. Evaluate and select instructional materials (textbooks, manuals, software, and tools) in collaboration with discipline faculty; order materials to ensure timely delivery. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition. Knowledge Of:
Current theory and practice within the subject discipline, specifically in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Design; Principles and best practices of effective teaching. Ability To:
Demonstrate thorough knowledge in UI/UX Design; deliver course curricula in various learning styles; be sensitive to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds; integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies; maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality; communicate effectively in writing and speech.
