Overview
Director of Transportation & Trade Compliance leads all aspects of international and domestic freight movement, global logistics strategy, and import/export compliance. This hybrid leadership role requires extensive knowledge of freight contracting, U.S. Customs regulations, and international trade policy. The ideal candidate will bring strong negotiation skills, deep trade compliance experience, and a continuous improvement mindset rooted in Lean and Six Sigma principles.
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Bonus: 20%

Direct Reports: 2 Analysts
Reports To: Vice President, Supply Chain
Salary Range: $140k to $160k DOE
Relocation: Remote
Responsibilities
Lead global and domestic transportation operations across ocean, air, LTL, and FTL lanes.
Negotiate and manage international and domestic freight contracts, service level agreements, and rate structures.
Select, onboard, and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and brokers.
Drive cost savings, transit reliability, and freight lane optimization using data and KPIs.
Ensure company-wide compliance with import/export regulations, including HTS classifications, valuation, and country of origin determination.
Oversee compliance programs for KORUS (Korea–U.S. Free Trade Agreement), USMCA, C-TPAT, and First Sale.
Act as primary contact with customs brokers and regulatory authorities.
Monitor and implement regulatory changes impacting international trade and U.S. CBP enforcement trends.
Utilize Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and TMS platforms to manage and monitor transportation and compliance workflows.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
Report transportation KPIs and compliance metrics to executive leadership.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, and IT.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or closely related field required.
MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, and trade compliance leadership roles.
Extensive experience in freight contract negotiation and global logistics strategy.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs, HTS, Incoterms, and international trade agreements including KORUS.
Experience with Epicor P21, TMS, and freight audit platforms.
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
