Background: A global medical technology manufacturer is seeking a

Principal Product Security Engineer

to serve as the cybersecurity SME for its R&D team. This role will embed security into connected medical devices and software from design through post-market, ensuring compliance with FDA and international cybersecurity standards. Responsibilities: Lead product security strategy across the development lifecycle. Identify and mitigate threats, vulnerabilities, and design risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls. Maintain accurate SBOMs and automate vulnerability scanning. Support penetration testing, secure updates, and incident response. Provide expertise for audits and regulatory submissions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. 8+ years in product or cybersecurity engineering (FDA-regulated preferred). Knowledge of NIST, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO/IEC, and FDA cybersecurity guidance. Proficiency with Windows, cloud, security frameworks, and testing tools. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python); certifications (CISSP, Security+) preferred. Seniority level
