Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team. This is a senior Lead Technical position within the Power Delivery & Renewable unit. The role requires interfacing with Arcadis’ power delivery team, especially the System Planning and Studies Team, with technical and project management assignments, project engineering, proposal management and business development. The incumbent will manage day-to-day client engagement, project and proposal coordination, project execution, resource planning, and hands-on technical solution work, ensuring project execution in accordance with applicable codes and Arcadis policies and procedures, including Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. The position works closely with multiple Power Delivery departments and Arcadis business units. The role involves coordinating the Power Delivery & Renewables (PD&R) team and performing hands-on power system planning and studies for utility and developer clients in North America. You will collaborate with other renewable energy teams and contribute to improving quality of life as part of the PD&R group. Role accountabilities

Manage and grow the System Planning & Studies team in collaboration with the Power Delivery & Renewables Leader and Manager of System Planning and Studies; ensure resource planning, utilization, and quality reviews on large/complex projects. Perform and coordinate HVAC and HVDC power systems analysis activities including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability, reliability, interconnection studies, and system impact studies. Lead the continuous development of enhanced power system planning & studies processes, methodologies, and tools to maintain technical leadership and efficiency. Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead to support services and drive business growth for the region. Mentor junior team members; conduct quality assurance/quality control on work; participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development and project execution. Collaborate with PD&R Leader to develop plans for client development, account growth, department growth, resource planning, project execution quality, and financial performance to meet PD&R goals. Travel up to 20% to client sites and meetings within North America and potentially internationally. Qualifications & Experience

Required Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Power System Planning and Studies with familiarity of North American market operators (e.g., MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP) policies, guidelines, regulations, rules, requirements, and criteria for grid interconnection, performance, and planning, especially for bulk power systems. Experience in leading and/or performing planning/feasibility studies, interconnection studies, transient studies, and systems analysis for utility and developer clients in North America. Proficiency with PSCAD and PSSE (including load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability); familiarity with alternative tools such as TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools. PE License certification is required. Preferred Ph.D. in Power Systems (strongly preferred) HVDC experience Additional information
