Land Surveying Field Crew Chief - Builder Services role at Exacta Land Surveyors LLC. Exacta provides residential, builder, and commercial land surveying services across Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Texas, delivering accurate and timely surveys for real estate transactions. Position Summary
Field Crew Chief uses surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, data collectors) to determine elevations and property boundaries for title surveys and elevation certificates. Work is outdoors year-round in various weather conditions. Must be able to move in various positions and lift 30 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally (with assistance). Responsibilities
Self-managed, responsible, safe, and able to work independently. Perform duties assigned by Field Manager to complete projects accurately and on time. Download and upload survey data to proper files in the computer network or field data collector. Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying marks. Cut and clear brush and trees from the line of survey. Maintain field data quality and perform accurate simple calculations as needed. Maintain equipment and vehicle, ensure daily morning equipment and supplies are ready and return items at end of shift. Adhere to Exacta’s policies, procedures, and work directives. Resolve internal/external customer issues promptly and professionally. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and other parties related to Exacta’s services. Perform all duties to meet business needs in a safe, ethical, and professional manner. Skills and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Two years of job-related surveying experience desired. Valid Driver’s License with a driving record meeting insurance requirements. Ability to perform basic arithmetic and understand algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Ability to operate surveying instruments (total station, data collector, GPS). Proficient in independent use of job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions. CAD drafting experience a plus. Schedule and Location
Monday through Friday with some weekends required during seasonal months. Ideal candidate located in the Waco, Temple, Bryan, or surrounding areas. Benefits
