We are seeking a Biostatistics Lead to lead and scale the biostatistics function at PicnicHealth. You will be the subject matter expert responsible for establishing best-in-class processes, mentoring a growing team, and directly impacting the scientific rigor and success of our non-interventional research studies. Own the biostatistics function within our delivery team, managing and scaling a high-performing team of biostatisticians to meet the demands of a growing non-interventional study portfolio leveraging primary data (e.g., PROs, ClinROs, wearables) and secondary data (e.g., medical records, claims). Define and implement the operational roadmap for Biostatistics, establishing standards, processes, and best practices for delivering efficient, high-quality statistical deliverables. Serve as the lead biostatistics partner to internal teams and external clients, providing expert consultation to shape study strategy and build long-term partnerships. Provide senior strategic oversight for all client-facing statistical matters, taking ultimate accountability for resolving methodological challenges. Champion and integrate AI and other novel technologies to enhance analytical capabilities and drive efficiency. Act as a player-coach, leading and executing complex analyses on key projects while the team scales. What You’ll Bring

An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. 10+ years of experience in biostatistics within life sciences (pharma, biotech, CRO), with at least 5 years of direct people management experience. Deep expertise in statistical methods for observational and real-world evidence (RWE) studies, including causal inference methods (e.g., propensity score matching, marginal structural models) and external control arms, plus advanced handling of missing data. Proven ability to lead consultative interactions with senior client stakeholders, with exceptional communication and executive presence. Deep expertise with real-world data sources (medical records, claims, wearables, PROs, ClinROs). Expert proficiency in R and the tidyverse; SAS or Python is a plus. Experience with regulatory interactions (e.g., FDA, EMA). Familiarity with clinical ontologies (ICD, RxNorm, SNOMED, LOINC, MedDRA, WHO-DD) and data formats (OMOP, SDTM, ADaM). Demonstrated experience building or scaling team processes, SOPs, documentation, and QC/review workflows. Focus on and demonstrated experimentation with integrating AI into standard practices and workflows, with ideas for new applications at PicnicHealth. We offer competitive salaries with equity for full-time employees. Target Base Salary Range: $190K - $220K.
