General Manager
to oversee and optimize all aspects of our landscaping business. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of daily operations, including project delivery, field team management, client satisfaction, financial performance, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in landscape construction and/or maintenance, team leadership, and business operations. Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
Oversee daily operations across landscape maintenance, construction, irrigation, and enhancement divisions.
Ensure efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and timely project completion.
Implement and refine standard operating procedures to ensure quality, safety, and profitability.
Directly manage project managers, field supervisors, and crew leaders.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of field and operational staff.
Monitor performance, provide coaching, and drive accountability across all teams.
Project & Client Oversight
Monitor ongoing job sites to ensure high-quality work, client satisfaction, and compliance with specs.
Serve as an escalation point for client concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to ensure smooth project hand-offs and execution.
Financial & Strategic Planning
Assist in setting annual budgets, revenue goals, and operational KPIs.
Track project costs, margins, and labor efficiency.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and revenue growth.
Oversee procurement and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and landscaping equipment.
Evaluate and manage vendor and subcontractor relationships.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
Promote a strong safety culture through regular training and site inspections.
Maintain required certifications, licenses, and insurance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, horticulture, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
7+ years of experience in landscape operations, with 3+ years in a leadership or director-level role.
Strong knowledge of landscape construction and/or maintenance practices.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational efficiency.
Proficient in scheduling, budgeting, CRM/job management software (e.g., Aspire, LMN, Service Autopilot).
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Work Conditions:
Office and field-based role, with regular travel to job sites.
May require early mornings, evenings, or weekend availability during peak seasons.
