Position Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Director Technology Services for our Municipal Water Regulated DB&T team, to lead the strategy, implementation & support of our cloud & integration platform and Automation. The successful candidate will also develop and execute forward-thinking technical strategies while driving innovative solutions, aligning IT initiatives with business goals, and creating technology roadmaps to guide digital transformation efforts and lead AI adoption. This role requires a deep understanding of technology and its business applications, balancing long-term vision with practical, implementable solutions to advance the organization. This position facilitates collaboration within VNA as well as between VNA, the Group, Water Tech, BUs and other zones for technical assistance, technology evaluations, and optimization initiatives with focus on copy and adaptation opportunities. Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Technology Strategy: Oversee the definition and development of core technology architecture to support the enterprise strategic vision, including the development of a medium/long-term strategic technology roadmap. Technology Strategy: Oversee the definition and development of integration architecture standards and ensure consistency and alignment with Group integration architecture and C4E standards. Technology Strategy: Drive technology transformation to internal business customers and advance seamless integrated digital experiences for both internal and external customers. Technology Strategy: Develop and deliver automation strategy, including expanding the RPA footprint. Technology Strategy: Deliver a strategic plan to utilize MW DB&T solutions to support internal needs for better operational and market insights and create opportunities for performance enhancement. Technology Strategy: Develop strategies for and lead technological programs with significant impacts on the broader organization. Technology Strategy: Influence BU and ExCom management with their digital roadmaps. Technology Strategy: Study current and new industry trends, technologies, and software development; align with Group technology strategy as applicable to MW scope. Technology Strategy: Collaborate with peers across MW DB&T, VNA, MW T&P, and globally to share best practices to Copy and Adapt. Technology Health: Analyze current technology landscapes and identify areas for improvement, optimization, and innovation. Technology Health: Study information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. Technology Health: Drive enterprise cost savings through automation, infrastructure enhancements, and implementation of market best practices (e.g., FinOps). Technology Health: Lead efficient team operations that promote modernization and upgrades of MW DB&T and BU/Domain systems. Tech Office Management: Prepare and deliver technology-centric presentations for the BU and ExCom management. Tech Office Management: Contribute to the yearly budget process and prioritization processes relevant to MW DB&T technology. Tech Office Management: Encourage a dynamic, skilled technology workforce. Tech Office Management: Conduct performance evaluations and career planning with MW DB&T staff; align goals with BU/Domain objectives and personal development. Tech Office Management: Mentor staff to ensure alignment with BU/Domain goals and development goals. Work Environment: This will be a hybrid role located in Paramus, NJ; Milwaukee, WI; Delaware; or Boise, ID. Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background
Bachelor's or Master’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience building technology environments and setting strategies. Experience managing multiple teams and projects. Track record of bringing technology-enabled efficiencies to organizations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term technical strategies aligned with business objectives and industry trends. Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of technologies, standards, and best practices across Water, Waste, and Energy sectors. Business Acumen: Understand industry dynamics and translate technical initiatives into business value. Communication: Articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and deliver impactful presentations. Innovation Management: Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to drive advancement. Stakeholder Management: Build relationships and influence across organizational levels. Pay Range: $181,000 to a maximum of $207,000 Per Year.
