Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist/Senior Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located 100% on-site in Redondo Beach, California. The role sources and procures specialized goods and services, owns the contractual management for suppliers, and supports programs within the Air Dominance portfolio. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment with high expectations and collaborative team settings across all levels. This role may support any of the programs that are a part of the Air Dominance portfolio. The position may be filled at a level 3 or level 4. Essential functions, qualifications, and program expectations are described below. Responsibilities
Responsible for subcontract sourcing, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and closeout phases Assess supplier performance and regularly communicate feedback to Supplier Leadership Manage supplier performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycle Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, public law requirements, and company policies and procedures Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic negotiations Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders Contribute to Program Risk and Opportunity management Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement The role also includes coordinating with legal, contracts, finance, planning, operations, program management, engineering, and quality; monitoring schedule, cost, technical, and quality performance of suppliers; and interfacing with supplier leadership to drive contractual performance. Senior Principal Specialists provide subcontracting process and compliance guidance to junior staff and lead or mentor teams as needed. Basic Qualifications
Principal Subcontract Specialist
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, Finance, or Program/Project Management A minimum of 9 years combined experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, Finance or Program/Project Management may be considered in lieu of a degree Experience with SAP/MRP or related business application software Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD security clearance at the Secret level Senior Principal Subcontract Specialist
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years combined experience OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, or Finance A minimum of 12 years combined experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, or Finance may be considered in lieu of a degree Experience with SAP or related business application software Knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD security clearance at the Secret level Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Experience working on high-dollar development Subcontracts (e.g., $100M Cost Reimbursable) Negotiating skills with contracts in excess of $100 million Previous Team Lead or Management experience Experience conducting oral presentations to senior leadership Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Previous Control Account Manager (CAM) experience or training Working Level Knowledge of Business Law Risk Mitigation experience Change Management experience Active DoD Secret Clearance Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges: Primary Level $91,200.00 - $136,800.00; Secondary Level $113,500.00 - $170,300.00. The salary range is a general guideline; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Long Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director levels.
