Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Estimator based in Austin, TX. The Junior Estimator will be responsible for assisting in preparing cost estimates for construction projects. Daily tasks include gathering and analyzing data, assessing project requirements, reviewing plans and specifications, and providing detailed estimates. The Junior Estimator will work closely with our senior estimator, project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. Qualifications Strong analytical and mathematical skills Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Proficient in Microsoft Office and BlueBeam Prior experience in construction estimating Responsibilities: Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to understand project scope. Gather and organize subcontractor and supplier quotes for materials, labor, and services. Support senior estimators in developing detailed proposals and bid packages. Maintain an accurate database of costs, subcontractor information, and historical project data. Prepare comparisons of subcontractor bids to ensure accurate scope coverage. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required. Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to provide estimating support during project execution. Perform other related duties as needed to support the estimating department.
