Crane Nuclear has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at our Bolingbrook, IL site. Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technologies Business Segment of the Crane Corporation, a multi-national company that specializes in highly engineered industrial products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers. Crane Nuclear features recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and valve maintenance/testing scope-based process-driven services. We're seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced environments. As the sole Shipping Clerk at our Bolingbrook site, you'll ensure accurate and timely delivery of customer orders and report to the Operations Manager. Schedule: MondayThursday, 6:00 AM4:30 PM, with occasional overtime to meet shipping deadlines. Principle Responsibilities: Design and build custom wooden crates of varying dimensions using hand and power tools. Review each shipment's work order to verify that all parts are accounted for and match the item specifications, this may include part identification, counts, weights, and measurements. Pack and label each order using the required shipping supplies. Prepare UPS and FedEx bills of lading either manually or electronically. Coordinate freight for each shipment to ensure outgoing shipment is scheduled to meet or exceed our commitment date to the customer, and to ensure there is enough loading/storage space, personnel on hand, and the necessary equipment, including the appropriate type of truck to handle outgoing shipment safely. Physical receipt, tagging, and storage of inbound raw materials. Systematic receipt of inbound goods into the ERP system. Transport parts in the warehouse, working areas, staging areas or loading onto trucks by manual lifting and carrying, or by operating forklift trucks, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Cross-train in saw cutting, silver-plating, and assembly to act as an additional resource in other functional areas. Disassemble/assemble and fit various types of valves. Test various valves utilizing manual and automated test stands and fixtures per procedure. Maintain the Shipping area and assist in the maintenance of the Warehouse by cleaning, organizing supply replenishment, and labeling of all items. Problem solves as necessary, finding root causes and implementing countermeasure improvement actions. Participate in Crane Business System activities to drive or support continuous improvement. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications / Experience: High School Diploma or GED required Experience with hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, nail guns, tape measures) and basic construction methods Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn Excellent organization, multitasking, and time management skills Effective verbal and written communication across all levels High sense of urgency and proactive problem-solving mindset Positive, team-oriented attitude; adaptable to changing schedules and fast-paced environments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred: experience in shipping/receiving, forklift operation, blueprint reading, and valve-related work Must be able to lift 5075 lbs without assistance Benefits: Great Schedule with long weekends Bonus eligible 401(k) matching Full benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision Health insurance, Paid Sick Leave, Paternity Leave, Employee assistance program, Flexible spending account, Health savings account, and Life insurance.
