Assistant, General Counsel – Portland, Oregon. Full-time role in the Energy – Utilities sector focused on providing legal advice on complex matters including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) matters and energy contracts. Relocation is available. Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on a variety of complex matters and projects, including FERC matters and transmission and energy contracts. Negotiate commercial contracts related to energy (e.g., power purchase agreements, build-transfer agreements, interconnection agreements). Represent the company in state regulatory or administrative proceedings before state public utility commissions. Advise on regulatory and political implications of business decisions; interpret and apply applicable laws and company policies. Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; bar admission in one or more states where the company conducts business. 8 years of prior law firm experience; mix of law firm and corporate or agency experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of legal and/or regulatory issues; familiarity with political and legal environment related to the company. Energy experience and general understanding of utilities; ability to assess and interpret external regulations. Bonus: has completed the bar exam in Oregon, Washington, California, Utah, Idaho, and/or Wyoming. Job Details
