Position Overview

We are seeking a practical, solutions-oriented

Rust backend engineer focused on building core AI data and audio pipeline infrastructure for modern enterprise platforms.

This is a hands-on role driving high-performance distributed systems, backend API design, and advancing audio processing functionality in Rust. Location

Remote (must be available during Pacific Time working hours) Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain performant Rust data pipelines and backend services to support multi-modal workflows—processing structured and unstructured data (such as text, images, and audio). Architect and optimize distributed solutions for real-time data ingest, processing, and storage with a focus on throughput, low latency, and integrity. Contribute to or lead development of real-time Rust-based audio components (denoising, voice activity detection, interruption management) using libraries such as Rodio, cpal, Symphonia, or Dasp, and patterns like ring buffers or lock-free queues. DevOps & Deployment

Participate in CI/CD, Dockerization, and cluster debugging for reliable, scalable deployment and operations. Database & API Design

Develop scalable APIs; work with Postgres, Redis, or MongoDB for robust data handling. Concurrency & Tokio

Apply advanced knowledge of Tokio, async/await, and non-blocking Rust for scalable microservices. Read/understand codebases in Python or Java and assist in migration or modernization projects to Rust. What You’ll Bring

1-3 years professional Rust experience (motivated, teachable junior and intermediate engineers encouraged to apply) Proven backend focus: Strong API design, distributed system architecture, and performance tuning DevOps competency: Experience with Docker, deployment processes, and cluster debugging Database skills: Experience with Postgres, Redis, and/or MongoDB Tokio/async mastery: Deep understanding of async/await patterns in Rust Code flexibility: Comfortable reading/refactoring legacy code in Python and/or Java Audio processing (Preferred, Not Required): Exposure to digital audio processing (denoising, speech segmentation, DSP, streaming); willing to mentor if you’re passionate about learning Practical, solutions-first mindset with a strong drive for action and growth Bonus Points

Open-source contributions to Rust, DSP/audio, or data infrastructure projects Knowledge of real-time or low-latency application design (audio, video, signals) Familiarity with cluster scaling, ARM architectures, or highly regulated environments (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR) Experience with AI/ML data pipelines, MLOps, or handling multi-modal data processing Why Join

Work on state-of-the-art AI, backend, and audio infrastructure Directly impact mission-critical, scalable systems powering modern enterprise use cases Join a collaborative team of technology early-adopters who value constant learning and practical engineering Competitive salary, equity opportunities, and comprehensive benefits Grow your expertise in one of the most in-demand technologies in software If you have solid backend Rust foundations, an interest in audio engineering, and a bias to practical solutions, we’d love to hear from you.
