As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so accurately, you'll not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success of the warehouse and distribution centers. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local shops for daily lunches and family celebrations. The General Manager will be based in San Antonio, TX and is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse, including operations, customer service, office operations and IT. The General Manager plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls all office and warehouse activities. The selection, professional development, and motivation of all warehouse employees are key responsibilities. The General Manager assists top management in establishing warehouse performance objectives and strategic planning. They are also accountable for achieving prescribed company objectives in regard to cost, productivity, customer service and profit. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.

How you create impact

Lead cross-functional communication with ownership, executives, staff, and customers

Oversee warehouse operations, staff meetings, and administrative support to meet productivity, service, and compliance goals

Develop and implement systems for facility management, HR, equipment, and inventory to ensure profitability

Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, Retail, Pharma, and OSHA regulations

Manage customer relationships, service standards, contract negotiations, and conflict resolution

Represent the company in trade organizations and support marketing/sales initiatives

Monitor tech advancements and HR policies to optimize performance

Plan and manage annual budgets, resource allocation, and profit targets

Maintain standards for sanitation, safety, maintenance, and efficient storage utilization

What we would like you to bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or related field required

Seven (7) or more years of Management experience in a 3PL environment with P&L responsibility – preferably within the automotive or aerospace sector

Proficiency in planning, staffing, and budgeting • Develop effective relationships and provide leadership

Successful communication - written and verbal

Establish priorities and multi-task

Possess professional business demeanor

Materials handling equipment and personal computers with good working knowledge of MS Office Suite

Very organized / Methodical

Critical / Analytic / Objective

Approachable

Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
