General Counsel
at Justrite Safety Group will provide legal advice to management on all aspects of business law for the company’s global operations, including drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts; advise on labor matters; manage external legal vendors; oversee global legal entities; manage leases; oversee intellectual property; participate in and advise on mergers and acquisitions; manage litigation; and related activities. You will report to the Chief Financial Officer, with opportunities for advancement within 3–5 years based on contributions to organizational goals. About the Team: Our Legal Team protects the business and enables growth by partnering with leaders across the company to ensure compliance, manage risk, and provide practical, business-focused guidance on contracts, governance, regulatory matters, and intellectual property. The team is proactive, solutions-oriented, and collaborative, balancing legal requirements with strategic business goals. What You’ll Do at Justrite: The role includes managing the company’s legal concerns globally, overseeing outside counsel, advising senior management on the legal impact of decisions, and handling or supervising all litigation to minimize outside counsel costs. With input from the CEO and CFO, determine when outside counsel is needed, select counsel, negotiate engagements, and supervise representation. Review contracts and advise on obligations, rights, and risks. Provide risk mitigation and improve terms for purchase orders, e-commerce sales, and a wide range of contracts. Evaluate contract disputes and assist in developing approaches to resolve them; may negotiate resolutions. Oversee review and management of real estate holdings for optimal use and regulatory compliance. Manage an in-house compliance program emphasizing trade compliance, import/export regulations, and FCPA adherence. Supervise and mentor paralegal staff to improve efficiency and legal support delivery. Manage corporate governance, including registrations, renewals, resolutions, and director/officer appointments to ensure compliance. Oversee renewal and management of third-party insurance providers and policies. Manage intellectual property, including U.S. and foreign trademarks and patents, and coordinate applications and renewals with relevant teams. Advise and support management on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other partnerships. Other responsibilities: Provide training to employees on contract law and the contract review process. Advise HR on legal issues, including review of employment forms, handbooks, personnel policies, and policy interpretations. Advise HR and Senior Management on employee relations, discipline, handbook application, and compliance with laws and regulations. Draft or review company policies and rules. Your Skills and Expertise: Required qualifications include: Undergraduate degree and JD required. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in related legal areas with broad knowledge of commercial law, entities, IP, and corporate law. Active membership in a state bar association. Strong legal analytical skills with practical business orientation. Ability to work effectively across global boundaries. Experience in mergers and acquisitions. Compensation: The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $220,000 to $275,000. Actual base salaries will vary based on location, experience, and performance. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan tied to business and financial targets.
