Overview Assistant Director of Residencies and Student Events – Johns Hopkins University (Carey Business School) is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive student experience strategy that supports the academic, professional, and personal growth of MBA students and supports events and programming for Carey’s undergraduate Business minor. The role is part of the MBA Programs team and acts as a champion for the student experience, collaborating with program stakeholders to enhance the student journey from admission through graduation. The position is located in Washington, DC, with travel to Baltimore Harbor East and occasional evenings and weekends to support program needs. Responsibilities

Program Design and Execution (40%)

– Lead the planning and execution of signature MBA events (e.g., MBA Preview Days, onboarding webinars, EMBA Orientation, Foundations Week, residencies, community engagement lunches, professional development series, guest speaker engagements, and graduation ceremonies) from both FTMBA and EMBA perspectives. Design new events and pursue strategic improvements to existing events to boost student engagement, learning, and professional development. Support the implementation of events and programming for the undergraduate Business minor. Manage all logistical elements of events, including budgeting, venue selection, catering, marketing, and technology integration; ensure smooth execution to foster a positive student experience. Strategic Student Experience Planning (30%)

– Develop and implement a comprehensive student experience strategy aligned with the goals of the FTMBA and EMBA programs and Carey’s mission; identify areas for enhancement using best practices and emerging trends; collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to gather feedback and ensure initiatives align with program objectives. Oversee the student professional development reimbursement fund, including processes for applicant review and reimbursement. Collaboration and Communication (15%)

– Build relationships with stakeholders across Carey and the Johns Hopkins ecosystem (faculty, program staff, career services, student affairs, campus operations, alumni relations); provide timely updates to students and represent FTMBA/EMBA programs at school-wide events. Assessment and Continuous Improvement (10%)

– Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of student experience initiatives, analyze data and feedback from students, and drive continuous improvement for both MBA cohorts. Other duties as assigned (5%) Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
