Associate Software Engineer - Richmond, VA. CoStar Group is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer with a passion for designing and building modern web applications. This role supports our Web Enterprise team in developing tools that power CoStar Groups proprietary CRM platform, supporting sales and research teams across our brandsincluding Homes.com, CoStar.com, Apartments.com, and LoopNet.com. Location: Richmond, VA with a schedule of Monday-Thursday in office and Friday remote. Support design and development of modern web applications for CoStar Groups CRM platform. Contribute to the Web Enterprise team's tooling used by sales and research teams across brands (Homes.com, CoStar.com, Apartments.com, LoopNet.com). Collaborate in a mentorship-rich environment and take on direct responsibilities to grow technically and professionally. Participate in code reviews and contribute ideas to improve software quality and development processes. Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree required from an accredited institution in computer science or computer/software engineering, or comparable major graduating in May 2026 or December 2025. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Must have previous, relevant internship experience. Experience applying at least 5 of the following programming languages and technologies: TypeScript, React, Angular, C#, .NET, SQL, Python, Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS), NoSQL databases, AI Technologies, ElasticSearch, Distributed/messaging-based systems (e.g., Kafka). Preferred Qualifications and Experiences
Ability to write understandable, maintainable, and well-documented code. Strong interest in technology and continuous learning, with a passion for building high-quality software. Demonstrated leadership potential through academic, internship, or extracurricular experiences. Works well in team environments and collaborates effectively across disciplines. Familiarity with Agile development practices and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Understanding of web service and API design (REST, GraphQL). Exposure to AI libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) and familiarity with AI development tools or APIs (OpenAI, LangChain, AWS SageMaker). Capstone or personal projects involving NLP, computer vision, or LLMs. Whats in it for you?
