Overview
Data Manager / DBA Senior delivers insights to help clients turn data into action by providing transformative solutions to big-data challenges. This role focuses on developing and managing data-oriented strategies, processes, procedures, and standards to support research data collection and analysis, data storage and sharing, and data integrity at the program level. As a Data Manager / DBA Senior, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by developing and maintaining processes for data storage, organization, and security, and by supporting the design, development, and use of relational databases to support detection and mitigation technology testing and airport applications research. Airport operations experience or prior FAA-related work is desired. The Data Manager / DBA is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, securing, and archiving data and files generated by the programs functional areas, including defining and maintaining a logical structure to organize the Programs data and files. You will coordinate with functional areas to collect, organize, and store work products, deliverables, and raw and processed data files. Responsibilities
Capture network design and as-built network documentation. Identify whether additional file server storage is needed well in advance of the need. Ensure all data and files are backed up to secondary storage and verify backups are identical to primary. Archive notes and data generated from UAS Flight Operations. Collect copies of Waiters, COA, Flight checklists, pilot results, and incident reports; archive notes and data from Site Surveys, system installations, calibration, and shakedown testing. Collect and archive training, safety inspections, and mechanical incident investigation reports. Archive notes and data generated during Site Surveys, system installations, and related activities. Collect draft and final RF/Spectrum analysis reports for regulatory compliance (SEC and NTIA). Collect detection vendor system/technology reports and analyses submitted as part of the customers Broad Agency Agreement (BAA) process. Store results of the GDIT teams evaluation of the Detection Vendors BAA materials. Capture results of vendor system installation and calibration/shakedown testing. Collect and store raw and normalized detection data generated by vendor systems/technology and all data analysis. Transfer data to/from the FAAs Data Team. Collect and store raw data from Airport Applications research and results of analysis; Collect copies of draft and final customer documents and the results and deliverables from airport applications research. How a Data Analyst Senior Will Make an Impact Organize business and technical data and develop standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Design and implement data access, validation, security, organization, and documentation controls. Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, install and administer databases. Plan and coordinate how program data is organized and validate changes to organization. Act as a central collection point for all program data. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard stored data. Develop standards and user guidelines to access managed data. Coordinate with IT/Network to implement security measures against data loss or unauthorized access. Schedule, plan, and supervise installation and testing of new data management tools. Monitor database performance and optimize database parameters. Specify users and access levels; identify and evaluate industry trends in data management systems. Be familiar with data modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata, repository creation, and configuration management. Be a self-starter with minimal oversight; experience with MS Teams is a plus; maintain current knowledge of relevant technology; may coach less-experienced personnel. Qualifications
Education : Required Bachelors degree in information systems, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, or business administration. Masters degree, MBA, or PhD may substitute for a bachelors degree and 3 years of experience. Experience : 6+ years of related experience. Technical Skills : Data management, data analysis, analytical thinking, communication, database administration, data governance, quality management; ability to interpret complex data to extract actionable insights. Security : Must be able to complete Agency-specific Suitability background check (no active clearance required). Skills and Abilities : Self-starter, continuous learner. Preferred : Higher degrees and certifications (e.g., Oracle Certification Program, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are desirable.
