Essential Duties The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) and Compliance Specialist/Lead manages all regulatory compliance issues, quality program standards, and external audits. The role focuses on Food Safety & Quality, ensuring compliance with Sara Lee Frozen Bakery and regulatory standards, supporting cross-functional teams, and programs such as SQF, HACCP/HARPC, and others. Position Summary The FSQA Compliance Lead identifies and helps eliminate product concerns, maintains accurate records, makes decisions on food safety and quality, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and manages programs including: Food Safety: HACCP, HARPC, SSOP, cGMP, SQF, Organic, Kosher, audits, and other safety procedures. Quality and Regulatory: manages audit programs, SQF certification, compliance updates, CAPA processes, documentation, traceability exercises, legislative rollouts, and supports innovation projects. Research and Development: assists in new product qualifications and process improvements. Qualified designees will cover for absences as appointed by the FSQA Manager. Education and Work Experience Preferred degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Engineering, or Chemistry. 2-5 years in QA/QC and regulatory-facing roles in food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment under FDA and/or USDA. Preferred PCQI and HACCP certifications. Knowledge of cGMP, HACCP/HARPC, SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000, FDA regulations, and certifications. Experience with NetSuite and/or SAP (minimum 2 years). Knowledge of environmental programs, CAPA, RCA, problem-solving, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Alchemy software. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Leadership in food safety and regulatory affairs. Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to wear PPE, work in hot/cold environments, stand for long hours, lift up to 40 pounds, and climb ladders.
