Job Summary
The
Account Coordinator , supporting the
Intermodal & Truck Brokerage Operations
department, is responsible for coordinating daily freight load movements on a national scale, while maintaining customer satisfaction in an extremely high-pressure, time-sensitive atmosphere. They are motivated, self-starter able to manage multiple projects at once within a fast-paced environment. The below is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of each role and is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of essential functions, responsibilities or requirements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Determine and secure the most profitable equipment type and/or transportation mode Schedule pickup and delivery appointments per customers requirements Procure and dispatch carriers Communicate with carriers, customers, and railroads Manage equipment pools Ensure loads are picked up, moving on schedule and delivered on-time Obtain arrival and departure times from carriers Ensure timely termination of empty intermodal equipment Process accessorial charges Audit work orders Analyze various reports that will assist in properly managing customer loads Assist in the review and submittal of customer requests for pricing Back Up for other team members and/or team leader, as needed Have availability to work outside office hours (evenings and weekends) as part of an on-call rotation Promote and display Cornerstones Core Values: Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Loyalty, Never Satisfied Regular and reliable attendance expected Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager Minimum Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Require Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred 3-5+ years of related work experience within transportation or logistics, and/or additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or similar area of study; working knowledge of intermodal transportation preferred, but not required Cost management experience preferred, but not required Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills Must possess a strong sense of urgency Strong negotiating skills Must possess strong attention to detail Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and can work well under pressure Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook
