Position Overview:
As a Construction Project Manager , you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of multifamily construction projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution while maintaining quality, safety, and cost control.
You will be expected to apply your 5+ years of experience in construction management, with a focus on multifamily developments, to lead projects efficiently. This role demands excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to maintain project momentum, resolve conflicts, and drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and plans, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to streamline project timelines.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including on-site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. Foster a collaborative environment and ensure clear communication across all stakeholders.
Client Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
Budget & Cost Control:
- Oversee project budgets, monitor expenses, and manage cost-effective solutions. Work closely with the estimating team to ensure all cost projections are accurate and adhered to.
- Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
- Identify potential risks and proactively resolve issues that could affect project schedules, costs, or quality. Implement corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
Quality & Safety Assurance:
- Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction quality and adherence to safety protocols.
Contract Management:
- Review and manage subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders. Ensure that contractual obligations are met and handle any disputes that arise.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, daily logs, and progress photos. Ensure that all paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong focus on multifamily residential projects. Experience with commercial general contracting is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification is a plus but not required.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in construction project management software
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of multifamily construction and building codes.
