OverviewMedical Science Liaison, Sleep - Midwest (Remote) role at Jazz Pharmaceuticals. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as the primary field-based scientific expert for Jazz Pharmaceuticals' products, focusing on Sleep Medicine/Neuroscience. The MSL will establish and maintain scientific and clinical relationships with medical professionals, researchers, and other members of the scientific community. The MSL team will integrate scientific expertise in all interactions and ensure compliant and successful scientific communication and education in disease states of interest to Jazz Pharmaceuticals. Jazz is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland with global operations and sites worldwide.Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesProvide field-based scientific exchange and communication of FDA approved and pipeline productsSupport the Medical Science Liaison team’s objectives for FDA approved productsIdentify, establish, and maintain scientific relationships with opinion leaders regarding disease-state and product-specific informationFacilitate scientific development of pipeline compounds at research centers and support Jazz’s presence in designated therapeutic areasSupport the clinical operations organization in Jazz-sponsored research as neededServe as primary liaison with investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated researchWork in a cross-functional environment with alignment to Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Clinical Development groupsDocument and forward reports of adverse events according to Jazz’s policyAttend and provide scientific support for Medical Affairs activities and scientific sessions at regional and national congress meetingsDevelop and prioritize solutions to problems, understand actions and results, and address customer needsMentor and coach peers and demonstrate leadership on cross-functional projectsManage at least two large cross-functional projects with leadership and collaboration while maintaining geographical responsibilitiesRequired Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customers, including opinion leaders and managed care organizationsKnowledge of geography and key opinion leaders preferredThorough understanding of applicable federal and state regulatory requirements for field-based scientific personnelAbility to develop trust and relationships with opinion leaders in disease states of interestCollaborative, team-based approach; ability to network with internal and external stakeholders, including commercial and R&D partners, medical opinion leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, managed care organizations, medical directors and pharmacy directorsAbility to work evenings and weekendsAbility and willingness to travel 60% of work daysRequired/Preferred Education And LicensesAn advanced doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD or equivalent)A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical/research experience (MSL experience preferred)Preference for Sleep Medicine experience; experience in Neurology, Psychiatry or related fields will be consideredJazz Pharmaceuticals is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any characteristic protected by law.Compensation and Benefits (US-based candidates): Jazz Pharmaceuticals provides a competitive base pay and total compensation package. For this role, the base pay range is $154,400.00 – $231,600.00. Individual compensation depends on qualifications, skills, experience, and other factors. The total package may include discretionary bonus/incentive plans and equity grants. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, and other offerings.
