As a Patient Access Representative, your role is more than administrativeit's about creating a warm, reassuring experience during what can be a stressful time. With a kind smile and a calm demeanor, you greet and welcome each patient in person, helping them feel seen and supported from the very beginning. You guide patients through the registration process, carefully entering their information into the electronic medical record system. Your attention to detail ensures that every patient's journey starts with accuracy and compassion. Whether answering questions, verifying insurance, or simply offering a comforting word, you play a vital role in connecting patients to the care they need. Key Position Details
1.0 FTE (80-hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shifts No weekends Job Description
Responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enters information into electronic medical record. Principle Responsibilities Greets and welcomes patient in person. Collects demographic and insurance information. Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork. Directs patient to their appointment or procedure. Documents any issues and resolutions in electronic medical record. May assist in scheduling add-on appointments. Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results. Obtains cost information and explains information to patient if necessary. Obtains signatures from patients as needed. Collects co-pay or deductibles. Determines patient need for financial counseling and offers to explain resources available. May order supplies in designated work area. Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues. Assists patient in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department. May gather medical record information from all departments for collection and distribution. May mentor new staff. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description 2 to 5 years of revenue cycle experience 2 to 5 years of customer service experience 0 to 2 years of general office experience 0 to 2 years of experience using computers including an electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Physical Demands
Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range
Pay Range: $23.03 to $29.75 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work. Benefit Summary
