We are seeking an experienced

UPW & Waste Commissioning Lead

to oversee the commissioning of ultrapure water (UPW) and industrial waste systems for a state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication facility. This role requires expertise in ASHRAE commissioning processes (Levels 2-6), with a strong technical background in UPW generation/distribution and advanced waste treatment systems. The Commissioning Lead will manage system verification, testing, performance validation, and integration to ensure compliance with SEMI standards, environmental regulations, and project requirements. Responsibilities:

ASHRAE Commissioning Levels 2-6

Level 2 - Construction & Installation Verification

Verify UPW distribution loop installation in accordance with SEMI F57/F58 standards. Inspect RO, EDI, mixed bed polisher, UV sterilizer, and ozone generator installations. Review waste piping slope, supports, and segregation color coding/labeling. Confirm secondary containment and leak detection for chemical storage tanks. Inspect HFW neutralization systems, mixing chambers, and emergency shower/eyewash connections. Verify installation of TOC analyzers, resistivity monitors, and dosing pumps. Level 3 - Pre-functional Testing

Conduct component-level testing of UPW systems (RO membranes, EDI stacks, mixed bed resins, UV lamps, ozone concentration). Test waste treatment systems (chemical dosing pumps, pH probes, neutralization tanks, sludge dewatering/filtration). Validate leak detection, alarm functions, and emergency shutdown sequences. Perform passivation and biofilm prevention procedures. Level 4 - Functional Performance Testing

Commission full UPW production and distribution systems (water quality, flow rates, temperature control, biofilm prevention). Commission industrial waste treatment systems (neutralization pH control, copper waste clarification, solvent waste segregation, IWN capacity). Validate monitoring, trending, chemical inventory, and dosing control systems. Conduct load testing at maximum design flow conditions. Level 5 - Integrated Systems Testing

Verify system performance under fab demand profiles and simulated full production. Test emergency scenarios, contamination recovery, spill containment, and overflow protection. Confirm system integration with fab-wide monitoring, control, and backup operations. Validate interlocks between chemical delivery and waste treatment systems. Ensure compliance with environmental discharge requirements. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. Skills Required:

5+ years of experience in commissioning UPW and waste systems within semiconductor or mission critical facilities. Strong knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning processes (Levels 2-6). Familiarity with SEMI F57/F58 standards and environmental compliance regulations. Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, commissioning plans, and technical specifications. Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and documentation skills. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-disciplinary coordination abilities. Education / Licenses / Certifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant studies is strongly preferred, but not required. OSHA 30 is required; NFPA 70E training and valid certification preferred. Commissioning Certification is preferred. Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable. The pay range shown reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rates the company may offer for this position. The final rate will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate

$63-$68 USD

Eligibility for per diem is determined by company policy and is applicable only under specific circumstances, based on job location and travel requirements.

Monthly Per Diem

$6,000-$6,000 USD
