Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Job Description
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will develop software test procedures, test scripts, APIs, and automation tools to facilitate the verification and testing of various product levels. This includes system-on-chip (SoC) calibration algorithm verification, test automation, and data analysis for software interfaces and system-level software tests. Your role will ensure the test architecture supports integration, test, verification, and validation of custom user terminals, including testing, analyzing, and optimizing test support equipment for satellite or ground elements.
Responsibilities
Provide software integration and testing for custom user terminal software.
Lead integration and testing of terminal systems in both lab and field environments.
Develop software to automate hardware test systems.
Create and validate test algorithms, scripts, automation, and calibration routines for test systems.
Design and validate test software for support equipment to enable test execution and requirements verification.
Prepare reports documenting test results, test coverage, performance results, and other key performance indicator (KPI) metrics.
Communicate issues effectively with developers and managers.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in software test engineering and the creation of test cases for hardware/software scenarios.
Experience in writing software for automating hardware testing.
Ability to use APIs to control lab equipment using Python and Linux.
3+ years in integration and test and/or product verification and validation roles.
2+ years using RF or network test equipment associated with SATCOM communications.
2+ years of experience in software development, software testing, or related industry experience in architecting and building software to automate hardware test systems.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of networking protocols and applications, including TCP/IP, especially layers L1-L2.
Experience in Linux and RTOS.
Experience in development, integration, and commissioning of satellite communication systems.
Familiarity with analytics software such as PowerBI or Grafana.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment with a requirement to be in the office three days a week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
