Residential Garbage Truck Driver role at Waste Connections of New York. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for driving, career growth and share our #1 value: SAFETY.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a CDL Truck delivering dumpster containers to customers and provide the best service in the industry.
• Drive a Commercial CDL Truck into a variety of environments (Residential, Construction, Commercial, etc.).
• Determine the best, convenient drop-off location for dumpsters to avoid property damage.
• Cautiously operate hydraulic hand controls to load/unload dumpsters on/off the truck.
• Secure the dumpster load, cover appropriately and account for weight shift before departing.
• Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Interact courteously with customers.
• Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What We Work With

Trash is heavy and service is provided year-round in various weather conditions. Be prepared to work around heavy diesel equipment in dirty environments.

• Extensive physical activity, with heavy lifting (over 75 pounds) and frequent walking.
• Exposure to physical risks and the need to follow basic safety precautions.
• Exposure to outside weather, fumes and vibration.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a satisfactory driving record.
• Class A or B CDL.
• Ability to work Monday – any day of the week starting as early as midnight.
• Physically comfortable with the demands of the job.
