AmeriGas Propane, Inc. is looking for a safety-minded, customer-focused Transport Driver. AmeriGas is the nation’s largest propane distributor with a network of distribution points across the United States.

AmeriGas, the nation’s largest propane distributor, has immediate openings for Transport Drivers at a location near you. The role involves operating a 11,400 gallon tanker truck to transport propane to AmeriGas facilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive the tanker truck to pick up propane at the refinery or other supply points and deliver to AmeriGas facilities; loading/unloading typically requires about 45 minutes.
• Attach terminal hoses to truck connections to pump propane into the tanker.
• Unload using hoses attached to filling ports or hoses stored in the truck (hoses are 20 ft long, 3 in diameter; and 19 ft long, 1½ in diameter).
• Perform twice-daily truck inspections.
• May climb ladders at some facilities to check gauges at the top of bulk tanks.

Requirements

• 3 years tractor-trailer experience; minimum 200,000 miles
• 1 year tanker experience within the last 3 years (preferred)
• Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
• Eligible for Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
• No accidents in the previous 3 years
• No more than one moving violation in the previous 2 years

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is approximately $0.5838/mi to $0.5938/mi with a flat on-duty non-driving hourly wage of $24.06 to $25.06, depending on qualifications and other factors. Additional compensation may include performance-based bonuses or commissions depending on the position. Benefits include comprehensive health plans, retirement savings (401(k) with company match), and paid time off. Some benefits are subject to eligibility and legal requirements.
