Base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00 per hour. The range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package.

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and will perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require. Additional tasks may be requested if they help achieve Customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all duties.
  • Maintain high awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times; recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assist Customers as needed; register-trained; answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; greet Customers throughout the Store.
  • Provide prompt responses to Customer Service calls; handle issues courteously and involve Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and good presentation; replenish restroom supplies and disinfect high-touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company's dress code.
  • Conduct daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and organized stores aligned with standards.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise per monthly presentation guidelines; maintain merchandise/brand name familiarity.
  • Understand Loss Prevention awareness, Shortage Highway, Store Protection Specialist (where applicable), and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follow MOS policies, identify MOS merchandise, process items correctly, and notify leadership for disposals.
  • Adhere to cash, check, charge card, and refund procedures; maintain accuracy with financial transactions.
  • Demonstrate urgency to efficiently perform duties and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
