Velvet Cannabis is Central Contra Costa County's first retail full service dispensary. We are local East Bay natives who love cannabis and believe it provides a positive impact in our lives as well as throughout our communities. Velvet Cannabis partners with world class cannabis brands to curate a unique, cutting edge and refreshing take on cannabis. Our extensive industry relationships and experience allow us access to some of the best, lab tested and safe cannabis products available at affordable prices. We are looking for professional Retail Sales Associates & Cannabis Enthusiasts. As a Retail Sales Associate, you are the face of Velvet Cannabis focused on providing an exceptional customer experience.

Compensation

Retail Sales Associate Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Act in a professional manner, greeting customers, facilitating sales, and ensuring exceptional customer experience
• Advise customers on cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and interests
• Stay up to date with cannabis industry standards, new products, strains, changes in laws, and industry trends
• Process customer transactions using Velvet’s Point of Sale (POS) system
• Ensure the dispensary is clean, stocked, and well-organized at all times
• Educate customers on the safe use of cannabis products provided at Velvet Dispensary
• Upsell when appropriate; promote current sales, promotions, discounts, etc.
• Verify proper identification to confirm customers are of legal age to purchase and consume products
• Maintain a professional appearance of the sales floor
• Manage inventory of cannabis products
• Ensure the sales floor is always stocked and well-organized
• Assist in various dispensary operations while maintaining hygienic conditions
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 3 hours
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop and kneel
• Ability to grasp, finger, and reach
• Ability to effectively communicate
• Available nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous cannabis experience preferred
• Knowledge of cannabis strains and their benefits, effects, etc.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and multitasking abilities
• A passion and interest for all things cannabis
• Drive to go above and beyond for your team and your customers
