Position Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with at least 5 years of accounting experience. In this role, you’ll manage financial reporting, handle payroll preparation, process sales tax filings, and work closely with clients to support their accounting needs. Experience working with retail businesses is a significant plus.
This is a full-time, client-facing position that requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closings to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations
- Prepare books for payroll processing and oversee timely, accurate payroll submissions
- Handle sales tax filings and ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations
- Assist with preparing documents for audits and annual tax filings
- Learn and utilize TaxDome software to manage client deliverables (training provided if needed)
- Collaborate with clients to provide accounting insights and resolve inquiries
- Stay updated on accounting regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial statements, balance sheets, and book closings
- Retail accounting experience is highly preferred
- Experience with sales tax filings and payroll preparation
- Familiarity with QuickBooks; TaxDome experience is a plus, or willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to thrive in client-facing settings
- Bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, a team player, and the ability to handle confidential information
