Overview
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant (CPA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive accounting services, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. You will play a key role in financial reporting, tax preparation, and advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct audits and internal controls assessments for clients.
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients to minimize tax liabilities.
- Assist clients with financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all accounting activities.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and tax laws.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service.
- Mentor and train junior staff members as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Active CPA license in the state of Iowa or willingness to obtain one.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
