The Marketing Insights Manager leads the development of insights that inform product development, category strategy, go-to-market initiatives, and customer engagement. This position supervises one direct report focused on customer experience and research operations, and collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing and Technical Services to ensure insights are embedded across the commercial organization. This role is critical in helping the organization better understand the evolving needs of mission-based food manufacturers, co-packers, and brand partners in the clean label, organic, and sustainability-driven ingredient space.

  • Lead the development and execution of customer and market research initiatives to support product innovation, category strategy, and marketing campaigns in the food ingredients industry.
  • Manage end-to-end analysis of marketing and customer data to uncover trends in buyer behavior, category dynamics, channel performance, and ingredient innovation opportunities.
  • Leverage syndicated data sources (e.g., Innova, Mintel, SPINS, Euromonitor) to monitor market trends, competitive activity, and category dynamics, and translate findings into business insights that inform product innovation and marketing strategy.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations to support strategic B2B decisions—such as product positioning, pricing strategies and customer segmentation.

  • Manage external research and insights agencies, including defining project scopes, evaluating deliverables, and overseeing budgets related to marketing insights work.
  • Support development of sales and marketing tools by translating insights into customer personas, buyer journey maps, and business opportunities.
  • Guide data governance standards to maintain the accuracy, quality, and compliance of marketing and customer data.
  • Supervise and coach team members, including responsibility for performance management, mentoring, and day-to-day oversight.
  • Keep current on ingredient market trends, customer preferences, and sustainability drivers shaping the food and beverage industry.
