Position Summary: A strong team member will perform duties including but not limited to electrician and all aspects of mechanical maintenance. The team member will troubleshoot issues to ensure electrical and mechanical components are in good working order throughout the plant. An Electrician A is expected to perform all functions of an Electrician B & C in line with the responsibilities below.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Electrical
    • Install and align electrical motors.
    • Perform basic electrical calculations.
    • Use electrical test equipment (voltage meters, megger, current generators, loop calibrators, etc.).
    • Fabricate and install conduit.
    • Perform soldering operations.
    • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control circuits.
    • Troubleshoot and repair parts on drives.
    • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and air cylinders.
  • Maintenance
    • Understand installation and maintenance of all types of bearings.
    • Perform shaft alignments using precision tools.
    • Disassemble and rebuild crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
    • Use manuals, parts lists or blueprints to install, repair, or order parts.
    • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and pneumatics.
    • Troubleshoot and maintain variable speed drives.
    • Initiate work orders as required.
    • Charge inventory parts from warehouse appropriately and ensure parts are available before starting a job.
  • Training
    • Operate heavy equipment (extended forklift, manlift, or maintenance machinery) for plant and quarry maintenance.
    • Willing to upgrade skills through vendor training and company-designated training.
  • Safety
    • Be well versed in all aspects of safety and comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations.
    • Complete and document workplace inspections in a timely manner.
    • Keep maintenance tools in good condition and replace or repair as needed.
    • Apply CMMS knowledge to ensure work orders and checklists are complete accurately.
  • Attributes
    • Knowledge of PLCs; Crane Operator Certification preferred.
    • Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
    • Basic mathematical skills; able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and mechanical drawings.
    • Ability to work shift work, including holidays, and be flexible to schedule changes.
    • Must have a telephone and be open to callouts; self-motivated and able to work independently.
    • Strong safety decision-making, tolerance for outdoor and harsh conditions, and exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to access all plant locations and perform essential duties, including heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, heights up to 190 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and tunneling as required.
    • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
    • Ability to read, write, and interpret work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, SOPs, and manuals.
    • Knowledge of current environmental regulations and practices in the lime industry.
    • All tasks to be completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Physical Demands

  • Tolerate outdoor work in severe weather; exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.
  • Access sites that may include heights, confined spaces, and tunnels.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Possibility of shift work and after-hours callouts as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in an industrial background.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5+ years mechanical experience including welding, equipment alignments, equipment troubleshooting, reading of blueprints and mechanical drawings. Candidate must be able to pass an electrical assessment test and have a minimum of 200 hours logged working under the supervision of an Electrician.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background.
