Overview
Base pay range: $35.00/hr - $45.00/hr.
Company: Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC). This description includes responsibilities for maintenance and repair of various machines, electrical/mechanical equipment, and facility electrical systems, with mentorship duties and potential for shift variability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain operation of machinery, electrical/mechanical equipment, and facility electrical infrastructure (including A/C systems, chillers, refrigeration, DC motors 20hp and larger).
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical requirements of projects; implement engineering upgrades and modifications to the production process.
- Assist and perform mechanical work as needed; mentor Junior Electrician and helper Electrician training.
- Ensure safety; adhere to company policies; maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Coordinate activities within the maintenance department to meet goals and objectives.
- Repair and install electrical components (circuit breakers, fuses, switches, wiring) and work with engineers and technicians as required.
- Possess knowledge of 110v, 220v, and 440v circuits; AC/DC voltage; and electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Engage in preventive maintenance; inspect equipment; identify problems; correct faults before breakdowns.
- Provide training and mentorship; advise management of hazards; recommend corrective actions.
- Utilize hand tools and power/testing equipment; manage inventories of equipment, parts, and supplies; place orders as needed.
- Maintain electrical documentation (equipment part lists and schematics); monitor records of electrical equipment (temperature controllers, motors, tension devices, electrical heaters, motor speed drives).
- Ensure repairs and upgrades comply with local, state, federal requirements and permits (e.g., Fire Department, AQMD).
- Exhibit professional conduct; contribute to a positive, safe work environment; demonstrate teamwork.
- Comply with Cal-OSHA and standard industry safety rules/regulations; perform hands-on repair of electrical equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: 10+ years of related electrical/maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficient with computers; strong self-starter; ability to handle multiple tasks/projects; good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritize workload and supervise employees.
- Industry knowledge: Manufacturing environment; industrial electrical skills; knowledge of safe work practices and National Electric Code; experience with 110v, 220v, 440v circuits and AS/CD voltage.
Pay Transparency
- The hourly range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00. Pay may be influenced by scope/responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations. Geographic adjustments may apply if authorized to work outside the listed location.
