Society for Experiential Graphic Design is hiring: Graphic Designer in Fairfax

Overview

Are you passionate about museums and design? Do you enjoy telling stories through your work? We are seeking a graphic designer who is:

• Creative and knows how to communicate complex stories to diverse museum audiences
• Organized and detail oriented
• A good communicator who can effectively present their work to clients
• A multitasker able to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experienced in managing their own design projects
• Knowledgeable in the exhibit planning and design process
• Savvy in telling stories in creative ways, leveraging various types of media for different audiences
• A self-starter who pushes the envelope, challenges themselves, and makes those around them better

Responsibilities

• Develop original graphics and/or production files for exhibitions at museums or other cultural institutions
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to translate concepts into engaging visual designs
• Manage multiple design projects from concept through completion
• Support exhibit planning and design processes with strong visual storytelling

Qualifications

• 4+ years of graphic design experience, preferably with museum or cultural institution projects
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud on Apple Mac
• Experience with producing graphics for exhibitions or large-format media
• Vectorworks or SketchUp experience is a plus
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (in-office 3 days/week; remote Thursdays and Fridays)

Additional Details

We work exclusively on Apple Mac products and this position requires in-office work 3 days per week with remote work on Thursdays and Fridays.
